What the Hell is going on with CBS?!
WHO is LYING? What happened in Mere Hours to change their headline?

Above - the article and graphic we pulled from MediaWhoresOnline and posted along with the link to the text at the CBS site. This was right before midnight PST. We urged fans to take this graphic and spread it far and wide - put it on blogs and sites everywhere and get the word out.

But no. Look what showed up on the CBS site mere hours later!

Above - the next morning we find that our link to the previous story takes us to this frightening picture of Bush and a Brand Spanking New Headline that says all is well in CIA Land. That our glorious Leader can do no wrong. Nothing to see here - move along.

Above - BUT, one of our staff members sends this to us as the proper link to the story we sent far and wide last night.

What the hell is going on at CBS? This looks like a disinformation campaign. Who got to them? Lawyers? The CIA? The Bush Cartel/Rove Machine?

Anyone know? Because we'd sure like to know just what the hell is going on..

We were just getting to trust CBS and all foreign accounts have said that BUSH KNEW the information was WRONG and that it hadn't been vetted by the CIA before his speech.

Getting dizzy from the SPIN? Yeah, us too.

This is why we need to take back the media.

A TAKE BACK THE MEDIA WATCHER NOTICED THIS ON THE CBS SITE:

I was reading the CBS uranium denial article from
Buzzflash and decided to go to the printable form for emailing.

I had been especially glad to note the inclusion of the statements
of Gregory Thielmann, ex-State Dept official.

Scanning down the printable version, I noticed the last
paragraph, which had listed statements of Gregory
Thielmann, was missing from the printable screen.

Returning to the full article, I noticed it had also disappeared
from the site article, accompanied by the title change.

The time was 11:30 AM EDT.
I guess it was update time for general
consumption.

Please check it out and report on the page.
Thielmann's revelations made it a much more
credible report...obviously...

A former US intelligence official who served under the Bush administration in the build-up to the Iraq war accused the White House yesterday of lying about the threat posed by Saddam Hussein.
The claims came as the Bush administration was fighting to shore up its credibility among a series of anonymous government leaks over its distortion of US intelligence to manufacture a case against Saddam.

This was the first time an administration official has put his name to specific claims. The whistleblower, Gregory Thielmann, served as a director in the state department's bureau of intelligence until his retirement in September, and had access to the classified reports which formed the basis for the US case against Saddam, spelled out by President Bush and his aides.

Mr Thielmannn said yesterday: "I believe the Bush administration did not provide an accurate picture to the American people of the military threat posed by Iraq."

He conceded that part of the problem lay with US intelligence, but added: "Most of it lies with the way senior officials misused the information they were provided."
